I'd say early July would be the best bet - June would be fine for working people, but bad for students. August is pretty close to Campzone and is a very difficult time for working people without children to get off. But early July is usually easier, and should be OK for students too.

Any students know exactly when the academic year ends in 2008? Last week of june. Can't find it exactly, but as far as i know holiday from july the first until the first of september. Note, often exams last week(s) of august.

These are the dates for the Highschool summer holidays in NL in 2008:

North: 28-06-08 till 17-08-08 Middle: 19-07-08 till 31-08-08 South: 05-07-08 t/m 24-08-08

The holidays for HBO and universities in usually somewhere in the middle of those periods I believe.

Overzicht van de data

Hier is een overzicht van de data van de zomervakantie en de Bouwvak. ( zie onder ) de datum die nu genomen is valt ver buiten de Bouwvak en algemene vakantie tijd en het midden van nederland heeft geen vakantie en het zuiden heeft dan net vakantie. ik weet niet of het dan wel zo een goede tijd is om dit te plannen. zeker als we mensen van het noorden en midden willen aantrekken, omdat het voor hun "in de buurt" is.

Below you can find an overview of the holiday dates for the different sections of the country. The date that has been selected misses the "Bouwvak" and the center section of the country still has school obligations. only the north part has entyerd the holidays and the south part just starts there holiday on the 5th. I don't think this date is such a good choice, because a lot of people are still at work of school. especialy since we aim at people from the north and center of teh country because of the location.

Over de datum

Mijn verzoek aan iedereen van de organisatie is, om eens bij je zelf na te gaan met het oog op: “een succes te maken van ons event, en het zo toegankelijk mogelijk maken voor al onze 4! doelgroepen” of de datum dan wel zo goed is gekozen.

Mijn argument is dat: Het event nu in geen van de 3 bouwvakvakanties valt Midden Nederland nog officieel een week school heeft. Dat is dus tijdens ons event. Zuid Nederland precies als ons event begint net vakantie hebben.

Het is me bekend dat het niet makkelijk zal zijn om de datum aan te passen mocht men het met me eens zijn. En ik zeg ook niet dat het perse moet, maar als er animo voor is en het event zo toegankelijker wordt voor mensen is dat het proberen waard lijk mij. Mochten we er dan niet in slagen om de het te verzetten, dan hebben we het tenminste geprobeerd en hoeven we elkaar der achter af niet op aan te kijken.

Als laatste wil ik zeggen dat niet alleen de mensen van de organisatie hier hun woordje kwijt mogen maar ook bezoekers of aspirant bezoekers van ETH-0 die hier hun mening over kwijt willen.
