Currently we can lend 15 consoles from various people, but that comes with some risks, some management and its also not possible to tinker with them. Therefore we've devised a donation mailing to ask unknown others to donate their old game systems to eth-0.

All these consoles need wires, and for exporting their video/image even more wires. Also they need tv's (on lackracks?) and extra tables to play with raised feet :P Do we need headphones extension cables/headphones to limit cross-noise? (probably not a problem)

Since we don't have much space, maybe we need to work in the vertical axis. A wall of tv's, of course it has its pro's and con's. like good for space, bad for people who want to sit in front of the tv.

During Eth0:2010 Summer there will be a public, complete retrogaming experience. While eth0 focusses its event around hacking and security, there is enough room for slacking. One such place is the Eth0:2010 retrogaming experience, where all consoles and games from our past are present, as well as some new ones. You know; the nes, megadrive, 2600, pong consoles and more.

Donation Mailing

We are asking random people in the Netherlands for game console donations. Currently we can lend 15 consoles from various people, but that comes with some risks, some management and its also not possible to tinker with them. Therefore we've devised a donation mailing to ask unknown others to donate their old game systems to eth-0.

Consoles

The tent will have plenty of room for consoles. A quick estimate says about 20, with some spares/optional in boxes. We try to lend consoles from our friends, our lend them from our own stash. There is also a public 'nobody-owns-this' stash of consoles, donated by rd and maybe others in the future.

  • Things with wood-style plating
    • todo: create a list of great games and titles, so the best is here..

Stash

The current collection is not yet considered full-retro. This is what we have.

  • Dreamcast + controllers and games
  • 2x Playstation 1 with guns and games
  • NES 8bit + controllers but no games
  • Gameboy + games

So its not a lot, and we hope donations + lending ups this list to at least 20 different consoles.

Lending from friends and neighbors

  • 2 NES 8 bit consoles with 22 games (including zelda & zelda II), only 1 set of cables. owner: jacko
  • 2 NES 8 bit consoles with 8 games (mario 3, zelda, mario 1 and various), few sets of cables Stitch
  • Pong console (tele sports 6) with a 12-in-1 cartridge. (has to be fixed) (stitch)
  • Colecovision with some 1983 games (which of course all suck) (stitch)
  • Bunch of PC games such as c&c red alert, 7th guest, duke 3d, dune 2, rollercoaster tycoon and theme park (stitch)
